From 1 November 2025, Centrepay deductions will no longer be available for new rental agreements under government reforms.
Existing customers — there’s no change to your payments. Your Centrepay deductions will continue as normal, so please don’t stop or cancel them. Once stopped, they can’t be restarted and you’ll need to switch to another payment method.
Lightning Rentals is committed to making this change as easy and stress-free as possible, with flexible, reliable alternatives available when you need them.
This change forms part of the Australian Government’s Centrepay Service Reason Reforms, which remove certain categories (including consumer leases) from Centrepay eligibility.
Good news — you’re not affected as long as your current Centrepay payments continue. You do not need to do anything, just keep your existing payments active.
Please don’t stop, cancel, or change your existing deductions — once stopped, they can’t be restarted, and you’ll need to set up an alternative payment option, which may be less convenient for you.
